Fake Discord Message Maker: How to Make One

A step-by-step walkthrough for building a fake Discord conversation and exporting it as an image or video.

· FauxTalks

Short answer: a fake Discord message maker lets you type both sides of a Discord conversation and download it as an image. In FauxTalks, open the editor with Discord selected, name the people, add each message under the right sender, then click Download PNG. It runs in your browser, needs no account, and nothing you type is uploaded.

The steps below follow the actual controls in the editor, including the parts that do not work the way you might expect. If you only want the tool, go to the fake Discord chat generator or open the editor with Discord already selected.

Step 1: Open the editor on Discord

Use fauxtalks.com/app?platform=discord. The page loads with Discord picked and a short example chat already on screen so you can see the layout. The first message you add replaces the example.

If you land on another app, click Discord in the App row at the top of the sidebar.

Step 2: Name the people

In the People section, rename "You" and the contact by typing in the name field. Click the round avatar next to a name to upload a profile picture from your device. Without one, Discord shows the first letter of the name on a coloured circle.

For a server-style conversation, switch from Direct to Group, set the group name, and use the add-person button for each extra member. Every member gets their own name and avatar.

Step 3: Type the messages

Write the message in the New Message box. Under "Send as", pick who is speaking, or press Tab to jump to the next person. Press Enter to send, or Shift+Enter for a line break inside one message.

The time box next to the text field sets the time shown beside the name. Type anything you like, such as "Today at 9:41 PM". If you leave it empty, FauxTalks uses your current clock time.

How Discord looks different from a phone chat

Discord has no bubbles. Everything sits in a flat feed on a dark grey background, left-aligned, with an avatar, a bold name and a small grey time above each message. FauxTalks draws it that way: sent and received messages look the same, and only the name and avatar tell people apart.

Two details worth knowing before you start:

Step 4: Add a date divider, an image or a link

Step 5: Fix mistakes and reorder

The Messages list in the sidebar shows everything you have added. Use the pencil to edit a message, the X to delete it, and the grip handle to drag it to a new position. You do not need to start over to change one line.

Step 6: Frame it and export

Under the phone settings you can change the status bar time, battery, Wi-Fi and signal strength, and switch between an iPhone and an iPad frame. The visibility toggles hide the status bar, the header or the message bar. Hiding the header and the footer is a quick way to get a clean crop of just the messages.

Click Download PNG for a still image. If you want motion, Play Animation previews the conversation appearing message by message and Export Video records it. Every export carries a small "Made with FauxTalks.com" mark.

Realism tips for Discord

What this is for

Fake Discord screenshots are fine for memes, skits, game and community art, UI mockups, tutorials and classroom examples. Do not present one as a real conversation to accuse, impersonate or mislead anyone, or as evidence of anything. Label it as a mockup when it leaves your hands. Do not use generated screenshots to impersonate real people, to deceive, defraud or harass anyone, or as evidence in any legal, employment or financial matter. Label your mockups as mockups.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make a fake Discord message?

Open the FauxTalks editor with Discord selected, rename the people, type each message under the right sender, and click Download PNG. You can set the time shown beside each name, add a date divider and upload avatars.

Is the fake Discord message maker free?

Yes. There is no account and no payment. Exports carry a small "Made with FauxTalks.com" mark.

Does it look like a real Discord chat?

It draws the Discord feed layout: no bubbles, a dark grey background, an avatar, a bold name and a small time above each message. Name colours come from a fixed palette of seven and cannot be set per person. Reactions, replies and embeds are not drawn.

Can I make a fake Discord group chat with several people?

Yes. Switch from Direct to Group, name the group and add each member with their own name and avatar. Pick who is speaking for every message.

Can I add a date divider like "Today"?

Yes. Tick "Send as System Message" and choose the Today or Yesterday preset, or type your own text. On Discord it shows as a centred line across the feed.

Is anything I type uploaded or saved on a server?

Yes. FauxTalks runs in your browser and needs no account. The messages and images you add stay on your device, and your current chat is autosaved only in your browser's local storage. The site uses Google Analytics for anonymous visit counts, which never include your messages.

Does the export have a watermark?

Yes, a small one. Every PNG and video carries a "Made with FauxTalks.com" mark in the corner. It keeps the tool free and marks the image as a mockup.
